Remarkably, Krunal has now won all five IPL finals he has played, further strengthening his reputation as a player who thrives under pressure.
Titans Struggle to Build Momentum
Gujarat’s powerful batting lineup never found its rhythm. The early departures of Gill and B Sai Sudharsan left the innings on the back foot. RCB’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding prevented any meaningful partnerships from developing.
Buttler attempted to rebuild, but tight lines and clever variations frustrated the Titans. Washington Sundar’s fighting half century provided some resistance, yet the total never looked imposing given the conditions.
Kohli Leads the Chase
RCB approached the chase aggressively. Venkatesh Iyer provided early momentum with a rapid 32 from just 16 deliveries, ensuring the required rate remained under control.
The spotlight, however, belonged to Virat Kohli. The veteran batter produced one of his finest playoff performances, registering his fastest IPL fifty and highest score in a knockout fixture. Kohli attacked Kagiso Rabada confidently, striking boundaries at crucial moments and keeping the pressure firmly on Gujarat’s bowlers.
Although Rashid Khan briefly raised hopes with two wickets, the result was never seriously in doubt. Kohli remained composed despite a minor injury concern and fittingly finished the contest with a boundary and a six in the eighteenth over.
