Rahul’s 92 in Vain as Gujarat Titans Snatch Victory in Dramatic Finish

Gujarat Titans pulled off a nerve-racking win over Delhi Capitals in one of the most dramatic finishes of IPL 2026, with Prasidh Krishna holding his composure in the final moments to seal victory on the last ball.

Delhi needed just two runs from the final two deliveries, with David Miller on strike. In a surprising move, Miller declined an easy single, choosing instead to finish the match himself. That decision proved costly. Prasidh delivered a clever slower bouncer that Miller failed to connect, and Jos Buttler reacted instantly with a sharp underarm throw from behind the stumps to catch Kuldeep Yadav short of his ground.

Miller briefly reviewed the delivery in hope of a wide call, but replays confirmed it was legal, ending Delhi’s chase just one run short. KL Rahul, who had earlier played a stunning knock of 92 from 52 balls, could only watch as the game slipped away.

The turning point came in the closing overs. With 36 required from the last two overs, Miller returned after a brief injury break and immediately shifted momentum with aggressive hitting. Alongside Vipraj Nigam, he reduced the target to 13 from the final over.

Despite being expensive earlier, Prasidh rose to the occasion. Nigam struck a boundary but fell soon after, leaving the pressure entirely on Miller. A powerful six brought Delhi within touching distance, but the refusal of a single changed the script.

Earlier, Rahul had anchored the innings brilliantly, countering Gujarat’s bowling attack with intent and freedom. His aggressive strokeplay kept Delhi in control even after Rashid Khan struck twice in quick succession, removing Nitish Rana and Sameer Rizvi.

Rashid’s spell brought Gujarat back into contention, while Mohammed Siraj delivered a key breakthrough by dismissing Rahul at a crucial stage.

Gujarat’s total was built on strong contributions from Jos Buttler, Shubman Gill, and Washington Sundar, all registering half centuries. Their combined effort provided just enough cushion for the bowlers to defend.

In the end, Gujarat Titans held their nerve to register their first win of the season, while Delhi Capitals suffered their first defeat after an impressive start.
