Bayern Edge Madrid in Seven-Goal Classic to Reach Semi Finals

Bayern Munich edged out Real Madrid in a breathtaking European night, securing a 4-3 victory and sealing a 6-4 aggregate triumph to advance to the Champions League semi-finals. The contest delivered relentless drama, with momentum swinging repeatedly before a late twist decided the outcome.

The visitors struck first inside the opening minute when Arda Güler capitalised on a misplaced pass from Manuel Neuer, setting the tone for a chaotic encounter. Bayern responded through Aleksandar Pavlović, who benefitted from uncertainty at the back to bring the hosts level. Güler soon added another via a set piece, though Neuer got a hand to it, but could not prevent it from crossing the line.

Harry Kane then stepped up to restore Bayern’s advantage across the tie, continuing his phenomenal scoring campaign. Not long after, Kylian Mbappé ensured Madrid stayed alive by pulling things level once more. By the interval, five goals had already been scored, reflecting the attacking intent and defensive lapses on both sides.

The second period saw chances at either end, with both Mbappé and Michael Olise testing the goalkeepers, yet neither side could break the deadlock for a long stretch. The turning point arrived late in the game when Eduardo Camavinga received his marching orders after a needless challenge followed by delaying play, leaving Madrid with ten men at a crucial stage.

Bayern seized the opportunity immediately. Luis Díaz struck in the 89th minute, finally breaking Madrid’s resistance and shifting the tie firmly in favour of the German side. Olise added another soon after, putting the result beyond doubt and sending the home crowd into celebration.

Kane’s goal also marked a remarkable personal milestone, as he became the first English footballer in nearly a century to reach 50 goals in a single season for a club in Europe’s top leagues.

Vincent Kompany’s side now prepares to face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, with ambitions of completing a historic campaign still very much alive.
