Knicks End 27 Year Wait With Dominant Sweep Over Cavaliers

The New York Knicks are heading back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 after crushing the Cleveland Cavaliers 130 – 93 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The victory completed a stunning 4 – 0 series sweep and confirmed New York as one of the hottest teams in the league right now.

From the opening minutes, the Knicks played with confidence and energy. A massive 20 – 0 scoring run early in the game completely shifted momentum in their favour and left Cleveland struggling to recover. The Knicks controlled both ends of the court, especially on the boards, where they dominated rebounds 60 – 33.

Karl Anthony Towns delivered another outstanding performance with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson once again showed why he has become the leader of this Knicks squad. Brunson averaged 25.5 points and 7.8 assists during the series and was awarded the Eastern Conference Finals MVP trophy.

New York’s supporting cast also stepped up in a big way. OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges and Landry Shamet all made valuable contributions as the team extended its playoff winning streak to 11 games. That run now stands among the longest postseason streaks in NBA history.

For Cleveland, it was a disappointing finish to what had been an impressive playoff campaign. Donovan Mitchell tried to keep his side alive with 31 points, but the Cavaliers simply had no answer for New York’s intensity and ball movement. The defeat became the worst playoff home loss in franchise history.

The atmosphere inside Rocket Arena slowly turned into a celebration for travelling Knicks supporters, many of whom made the trip hoping to witness history. Their team delivered in style.

Now the Knicks wait to see whether they will face the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals. Regardless of the opponent, New York enters the championship series with massive momentum and belief.
