Brazil Hit Their Stride as Cunha Double Seals Comfortable Win Over Haiti

Brazil produced their most convincing display of the tournament so far, defeating Haiti 3-0 in Philadelphia to strengthen their position in Group C and build momentum ahead of the knockout stages.

The South American giants settled the contest before the interval with an impressive attacking spell inspired by Vinicius Junior, Raphinha and Matheus Cunha. While Haiti showed determination and commitment throughout the evening, they struggled to cope with Brazil’s pace and creativity in wide areas.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side looked sharper and more fluid than in their opening match. Cunha, handed a starting role in attack, repaid the manager’s faith with two first half goals and an energetic all round performance. His movement and link up play gave Brazil a different dimension and helped unlock a stubborn Haitian defence.

The breakthrough arrived midway through the first half when a sequence involving Vinicius ended with the ball falling kindly for Cunha, who guided it into the net. Just ten minutes later, the forward doubled his tally after latching onto a clever pass from Vinicius before firing an emphatic finish beyond the goalkeeper.

Brazil suffered a setback shortly afterwards when Raphinha was forced off with a hamstring problem. The injury could become a concern as the competition progresses. However, his replacement ensured the attacking threat remained intact.

Vinicius continued to torment defenders and eventually added his name to the scoresheet before the break. Lucas Paqueta delivered a perfectly weighted pass over the defence and the Real Madrid star calmly finished to make it 3-0.

With the result effectively secured, Brazil controlled proceedings after halftime without needing to reach top gear. Ancelotti rotated his squad, managed the tempo and watched his team comfortably see out the remainder of the contest.

Beyond the victory, there were several encouraging signs for Brazil. The midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Paqueta and Casemiro controlled possession effectively, while Vinicius once again demonstrated why he remains one of the most dangerous attackers in world football.

The win leaves Brazil in a strong position heading into their final group fixture and offers further evidence that Ancelotti’s side could become serious contenders as the tournament advances. Expectations may not be as high as previous Brazilian teams, but their growing confidence and abundance of talent make them a side few opponents will be eager to face.
