The Atlanta Hawks produced a composed all-round performance to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 96-82 in the 2026 Salt Lake City Summer League. Devon Higgs led the way with 22 points as Atlanta finished its Salt Lake City campaign with a 2-1 record, while Memphis closed at 1-2.
Atlanta started the game with real purpose, taking control early by outscoring Memphis 28-15 in the opening quarter. The Hawks also built momentum through a 13-0 run, giving them the early cushion they needed to dictate the tempo. Memphis responded in the second and third quarters, but Atlanta’s sharp execution helped them stay ahead when the game tightened.
The Grizzlies made their strongest push in the second half, cutting the deficit to six points late in the game after Brendan Hausen knocked down a three pointer. However, the Hawks answered with the final eight points of the contest to close the door on Memphis and seal a comfortable 14 point win.
Higgs was the standout performer for Atlanta, scoring efficiently while adding five rebounds and two blocks. His performance gave the Hawks balance on both ends of the floor. Jacob Toppin added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Isaiah Wong provided 15 points off the bench with strong defensive activity.
Atlanta’s three point shooting was also a major difference. The Hawks shot 46.9% from deep and moved the ball well, finishing with 24 assists on 33 made field goals. Memphis, meanwhile, struggled with efficiency, shooting 37.1% from the field and 30.6% from three point range.
For the Grizzlies, Hausen was the bright spot with 21 points, including five three pointers. Jevon Porter also impressed with a double double off the bench, but Memphis were without key names including Cameron Boozer, Walter Clayton Jr. and Cedric Coward.
This was a positive finish for the Hawks before the larger NBA Summer League stage in Las Vegas. Atlanta showed depth, shooting confidence and defensive energy, while Memphis will look to regroup and bring back more of its young core for the next phase.
