The Inner Circle Delivers Thrills At Lumpinee Stadium

Fans at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium witnessed another unforgettable evening of combat sports action as The Inner Circle on May 22 produced several intense battles across kickboxing and Muay Thai divisions. The event showcased rising contenders, fierce rivalries, and career defining moments that could shape the future of ONE Championship.

Liu Mengyang Moves Closer To Featherweight Gold

Chinese standout Liu “Spirit Dragon” Mengyang strengthened his reputation as one of the top names in featherweight kickboxing after earning a convincing unanimous decision victory over Gabriel Pereira.

Representing Shunyuan Fight Club, Liu displayed excellent discipline and ring control throughout the contest. Rather than chasing an early finish, the 23 year old focused on precision striking, movement, and tactical execution to neutralize Pereira’s dangerous attacks over three rounds.

The victory improved Liu’s professional record to 36 wins and 7 defeats, further boosting his credentials as the likely next challenger for ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon. His composed performance proved that he possesses both the technical ability and maturity needed to compete for world title honours.

Freddie Haggerty Wins Opening Chapter Of Family Rivalry

Another major talking point from the event came in the strawweight Muay Thai division, where Freddie Haggerty secured a hard earned unanimous decision victory against Yonis Anane.

The contest remained competitive from start to finish, with both fighters enjoying strong moments during the fast paced encounter. However, Haggerty’s constant forward pressure, combined with his sharp kicking attacks, allowed him to edge ahead on the scorecards.

The London born fighter, who trains under Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground, improved his career record to 24 victories and 5 losses with the win.

More significantly, Freddie earned family bragging rights as the younger brother of ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty. Their growing success is beginning to create excitement among fight fans, with many expecting the Haggerty name to continue making waves in the striking world for years to come.

A Night Full Of Momentum Changing Performances

Beyond the headline contests, the event also featured impressive victories from Myanmar star Vero and rising finisher Do, who secured a life changing contract after another standout performance.

With explosive action across every bout, The Inner Circle once again highlighted why ONE Championship continues to deliver some of the most entertaining striking contests in global combat sports.
