Travishek and Klaasen Power SRH to IPL 2026 Victory Over MI

In an exhilarating IPL 2026 encounter, Sunrisers Hyderabad outclassed Mumbai Indians by chasing down a daunting target of 244 with ease, securing their fifth consecutive victory. Despite a stunning knock of 123 from MI’s Ryan Rickelton, the total proved insufficient as SRH’s batting depth and composure led them to a six-wicket triumph at Wankhede Stadium.

MI, batting first for the first time in 22 games, set a new record with 243 for 5, largely thanks to Rickelton’s blistering century. After a shaky start to the season, Rickelton, who had been sidelined due to injury, came back with a vengeance. His knock of 123 off just 55 balls not only marked the highest-ever score by a Mumbai batter in IPL history but also featured the fastest IPL ton by a MI player, reaching the landmark in just 44 balls.

MI’s early innings was a spectacle of aggressive batting, as Will Jacks and Rickelton powered the team to 78 runs in the powerplay. With the run-rate climbing, they seemed poised for a massive total. However, the middle overs saw MI lose wickets quickly, with key players like Suryakumar Yadav failing once again. Rickelton, however, continued to hold fort, finding boundaries even in the toughest overs, before MI added only 41 runs in the last four overs.

Chasing a hefty target, SRH started aggressively, with Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head putting MI’s bowlers under pressure from the get-go. Both took full advantage of the dew and the flat pitch, with Head racing to a fifty off just 20 balls. The pair added a destructive 129 for the opening wicket, leaving SRH well on track for victory.

MI did manage a brief comeback in the middle overs, with Hardik Pandya and Ghazanfar striking to remove key batsmen. SRH, once at 129 for 0, suddenly found themselves at 133 for 3, but the experienced Heinrich Klaasen steadied the ship. Klaasen’s calm approach, including a blistering 50 off 22 balls, put SRH back on course, and they comfortably reached the target with eight balls to spare.

This victory places SRH third on the points table, while MI remains languishing in ninth. With the win, SRH continue their strong IPL 2026 campaign, showcasing their resilience and firepower in what is shaping up to be an exciting season.
