Rahul And Kuldeep Power Delhi Capitals To Strong Finish Against KKR

Delhi Capitals signed off their IPL 2026 campaign in style with an impressive 40 run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. In a match that quickly lost its playoff importance after other results earlier in the day, DC still produced a complete performance with both bat and ball to end their season on a high note.

After being asked to bat first, Delhi Capitals made their intentions clear from the beginning. KL Rahul played one of his best innings of the season, smashing a rapid 60 off just 30 deliveries. His aggressive approach completely shifted the momentum towards Delhi during the middle overs. Rahul mixed elegant timing with powerful stroke play, keeping the scoreboard moving at a dangerous rate.

Abishek Porel also provided an important contribution at the top, while the rest of the batting unit kept attacking throughout the innings. Despite a few wickets in between, Delhi maintained excellent momentum and eventually posted a challenging total of 203 for 5 in their 20 overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders started their chase with positive intent and looked capable of making a game out of it. Captain Ajinkya Rahane led the response brilliantly with a fluent 63 from 39 balls. At one stage, KKR appeared comfortably placed at 126 for 3 after 13 overs and were still in contention.

However, the turning point arrived through Kuldeep Yadav. The Delhi spinner completely changed the match by dismissing Rahane and Rinku Singh in consecutive deliveries. His spell destroyed KKR’s middle order rhythm and pushed the hosts under massive pressure. Kuldeep finished with outstanding figures of 3 for 29 and once again proved why he remains one of the league’s most dangerous spinners in crucial situations.

Lungi Ngidi also played a key role with the ball, picking up important wickets during the final overs and ensuring Kolkata never recovered from the collapse. KKR eventually lost all ten wickets for 163 in just 18.4 overs.

The defeat brought a disappointing conclusion to Kolkata’s campaign. Their playoff hopes had already disappeared earlier in the evening, and this loss only added further frustration for the home supporters. Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, ended the season with a performance full of confidence and energy, giving their fans something positive to remember heading into next year’s tournament.
