Rain Hands Jamaica Kingsmen Narrow DLS Win Over Trinbago Knight Riders

Jamaica Kingsmen secured a narrow victory over Trinbago Knight Riders under the DLS method after persistent rain brought an exciting CPL 2026 contest to an early finish.

Kingsmen had reached 127 for 3 after 14.4 overs while chasing 182 when another heavy shower forced the players from the field. With no further play possible, Jamaica were confirmed ahead of the required DLS score, earning their fourth victory of the campaign and moving into second position in the standings.

Earlier, Trinbago posted 181 for 6 after being asked to bat first. Sunil Narine and Colin Munro gave their side a flying start with an opening partnership worth more than 100. Narine struck 53 from only 24 deliveries, while Munro added 44 from 29 balls.

Jamaica fought back dramatically through Vitel Lawes. He produced a remarkable triple wicket maiden in the 14th over, removing Munro, Kieron Pollard and Matthew Tromp. His spell shifted the momentum and later earned him Player of the Match honours.

Nicholas Pooran ensured Trinbago still finished strongly. His late hitting included two sixes and a four in the final over as he helped push the total beyond 180.

Jamaica began their response confidently, reaching 54 for 1 during the powerplay. Trinbago briefly tightened their grip when Jyd Goolie dismissed Kirk McKenzie early in the ninth over.

The first rain delay lasted close to an hour but did not reduce the number of overs. Keacy Carty and Saim Ayub then rebuilt the chase with regular boundaries before Carty was bowled by Usman Tariq.

Another sudden downpour arrived with Jamaica slightly ahead of the DLS requirement. The weather never cleared, leaving Trinbago frustrated as Kingsmen collected two valuable points and moved up the table.
