Jake Paul Targets Francis Ngannou Next: “I Think He Is a Terrible Boxer, I’ll Knock Him Out Like Anthony Joshua Did”
Jake Paul is eyeing a big comeback to boxing, with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou as his next target. The controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer shocked many when he faced Anthony Joshua in December, managing to last six rounds despite sustaining a broken jaw during the bout. Now, Paul is confident that a fight with Ngannou will be an easy win, claiming that he would knock him out just like Joshua did.
Despite being known primarily for his social media presence, Jake Paul has carved a niche for himself in the boxing world with some unexpected victories. His most notable clash came against Anthony Joshua, where Paul defied expectations by making it into the sixth round before ultimately being stopped. Ngannou, a renowned heavyweight in mixed martial arts, has also stepped into the boxing ring, facing Tyson Fury in a ten-round match. However, Ngannou was knocked out by Joshua in just two rounds.
In an interview, Paul wasted no time in calling out Ngannou, describing him as an “easy fight.” He emphasized that while Ngannou is a seasoned fighter in MMA, his boxing skills are lacking, making him an ideal opponent for Paul to return to the ring. “I think he is a terrible boxer,” Paul said, adding that he was confident he would knock Ngannou out just as Joshua had done.
Though Paul is not naturally a heavyweight fighter having mostly competed at cruiserweight he has no fear of stepping up to face the massive Ngannou. “I’ll go back up to heavyweight and knock him out like Joshua did, render him unconscious,” Paul declared, boasting about his ability to last longer against Joshua than Ngannou had.
The fight with Ngannou may not be straightforward, however, as Paul speculates that the former UFC champion might hesitate to take the bout. “He maybe wouldn’t do the fight because I think deep down he wouldn’t want to get embarrassed,” Paul suggested.
After his recovery from the broken jaw suffered in his loss to Joshua, Paul is eager to resume his boxing career. “We will see how the jaw continues to heal up,” he said, hinting that the fight with Ngannou could soon become a reality. Jake Paul seems ready for a fresh challenge, and Ngannou might just be his next victim in the boxing ring.
